Wildlife in Saltee Islands, Ireland

Puffin Talk on Saltee Island Great, one of my favourite spots on earth. See this picture also on Unsplash or in my categorie Birds. The Saltee Islands are a pair of small islands lying 5 kilometres off the southern coast of County Wexford in Ireland. The two islands are Great Saltee (89 hectares) and Little Saltee (37 hectares). Both have been privately owned by the Neale family since 1943.

Cliff in Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

I captured this photo in the youth of the day at The Cliffs of Moher on the Irish Coast. My family and I were touring the UK and made it to one of the most breath taking places I have been in my life. I was humbled ,feeling like an ant standing on the edge of the monstrous cliffs gazing out to the frigid coast. The weather was brutal but the experience was beautiful.

Hill in Connemara National Park, Ireland

Hiking to the top of a rocky outcrop right before a heavy rain storm came in and caught the very last glimpse of sun making way through the clouds. My work is 100% community-supported. You can fund my next photography adventure at Patreon.com/rvrmakes

Cliff in Howth, Ireland

After a 6 mile hike on the edge of the Howth Cliffs, just outside of Dublin, Ireland, a hiker turns around a blind corner to be greeted by a breathtaking view of the Irish Sea. On the edge of the cliff, looking out over the water, it truly feels like you’re on top of the world.

River in Muckross Lake, Ireland

The Ring of Kerry has some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen. My wife and I visited Ireland for our honeymoon, and we were lucky enough to spend two nights in Killarney. This photo was taken during a walk we took around Muckross Lake, not far from our hotel. I’m not sure which was more awesome, the view of the lake and surrounding mountains, or the fields full of wild red deer to our backs in this photo.

Cliff in Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

I went on a daytrip to the tallest cliffs of Ireland. I always loved to take photographs of landscapes… mainly because it calms me down. But these steep cliffs terrified me in the first place! People were dangeling their feet over the edge: I got goosebumps watching it. After some minutes I found a less crowded place to relax. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale… I was watching the waves hitting the cliffs. And I definitely got lost in doing that.

Cliff in County Kerry, Ireland

I photographed the Skelligs - rocky outcrops in the Atlantic off the coast of County Kerry - from Saint David’s Bay on the mainland. I chose my viewpoint to get the three rocks in the frame and used a 400mm lens to achieve the foreshortening effect. Skellig Michael - the largest - was the site of an ancient monastic settlement and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also now famous for featuring in the last two Star Wars movies.

Shore in Tramore, Ireland

When I went from Dublin to the South-East of Ireland I didn’t expect to hike about 32 kilometres in only that one day. I really have to say that I missed a proper walk at the beach the last eight weeks I lived in Ireland. There is a major difference between a cliff walk and a beach walk in my eyes. Feeling the sand slipping away underneath my feet gives me a really special feeling. Adding this beautiful view to that it was simply fantastic.

Hill in R344, Ireland

This photo was taken on our way up to the Kylemore Abbey in the Connemara mountains. This was by far the most breath-taking and most unexpected landscape from our trip to Ireland. There were sheep wandering freely which really spoke to the pristine beauty and peacefulness of the area.

Forest in Glencar Lough, Ireland

On our spring trip to northwest Ireland, we stumbled on a waterfall feeding into a gorgeous lake. Tucked inside the natural cavern the waterfall created were lovely walls of ferns and mossy rocks. This section of ferns in particular caught my eye because of how delicate and intricate they were.

Reservoir in Gougane Barra, Ireland

Gougane (pron: “goo- gawn) Barra is in West Cork, Ireland and the name is derived from Saint Finbarr who is reputed to have built a monastery in the island in the foreground in the 6th century. It is a beautiful place and it exudes a sense of calm and relaxation. This, of course, is a drone shot (Phantom 4).

Road trip in Bellfield, Ireland

I was driving home from Dublin City one evening at sunset when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw these crazy, vivid colours filling the sky. I immediately pulled off to the side of the road, grabbed my camera, and ran up on to the nearest bridge over the road to get this shot. The colours only lasted about four minutes before fading again, I was just in the right place at the right time, totally unintentionally; little moments like that make some of the best photographs.

Ocean in Inishmore, Ireland

On our trip to Ireland we decided to go to an island called Inishmore. To get there we had to take a boat wich was just filled with tourists, so we had to stay on the very back of the boat cause there was no place elsewhere. I was fascinated by the amount of details in the water that got “swirled up and “spit out by the motor and also the beautiful bright colors amazed me. So i wanted to get a very detailed photo of all the little bubbles and drops of water. With a really fast shutter speed i was able to freeze something that in reality seems just chaotic.

Hill in Conor Pass, Ireland

Conor’s Pass on the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland is one of the most scenic routes on the Wild Atlantic Way. At one of the parking spots there is a hidden lake on top, which you will only see climbing up the rocks. Even on a foggy and rainy day like ours it was amazing and so serene!

Nature reserve in Dunmore East, Ireland

Clambering around the precarious cliffs in Dunmore East, one of Ireland’s prettiest fishing villages, I came across this eerie set of cast iron railings from the industrial age. Built to guide intrepid walkers before the advent of more cautious health and safety guidelines. The railings now serve as a series of strange markers, inviting you into the dark Irish Sea.

Ruins in Hore Abbey Entrance, Ireland

It was much less expensive to wander around these Abbey ruins than pay for the very expensive reconstruction project of the Rock of Cashel at the time. But I much prefer the mystique of a good ruins, especially when there are great shadows.

Cliff in Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

During a wonderful vacation driving around Ireland, we of course had to stop at the beautiful and iconic Cliffs of Moher. I love a good bit of stormy weather, even if it was all day every day for our entire vacation – growing up in the Pacific Northwest has given me a healthy appreciation for it.

Town in Enniscorthy, Ireland

Taken by me in 2017 Enniscorthy is the second-largest town in County Wexford, Ireland. At the 2016 census, the population of the town and environs was 11,381. The town is located on the picturesque River Slaney and in close proximity to the Blackstairs Mountains and Ireland's longest beach, Curracloe.
